location: Het Bastion, Matheussmallegangse buurt Goes

A reconstruction of an old  bulwark, a place with a wide view on the surroundings, 
from which you could see the traveler, merchant or enemy coming along from far away.
Now this place has been build in completely. The panorama is gone, you are forced to 
concentrate on details.

By taking details from far away I tried to restore the panorama.
A ring of 50 cm. broad, which contains a circle with a diameter of  2 meter.
This ring exists of  6 bronze parts (5 x 50 x 50/25 cm.) in which you can see a ground-
print of places in the surroundings of Goes which have an interesting structure.
You see parts of nature, which one uses for touristical, agrarian or other economic
purpose out of a period in which this happens utmost.

As observer you are in the middle of the circle, look around and become aware of the 
surroundings of Goes. Like at all viewpoints distance will become nearer, though this 
time not by the big view, but by details so that you really replaces yourself.

constituent : Grounds is a multiannual project of artist initiative Stichting Trechter 5 in Goes.
They invite artists to make a sculpture, that does not stick out of the surface of the pavement.
